In Defense of the Tea Party Movement

Alarmed at the swiftness with which the Obama Administration moved on bailouts and take overs, when word was spread that there would be a tax protest tea party at the civic center in Gilbert, Arizona, on April 15th , tax day, I decided to participate or at least go and observe. That was the first of many tea parties I have been to since that day.

Being the very first one for all of us, it wasn’t hard to walk up to a total stranger and strike up a conversation on our current administration and how they are stealing the future of our children and grandchildren.

I managed to find a piece of foam core board, and scribbled a message on each side. I remember the first one I ever made. It said, “Czars! Czars! Czars! An end run around the Constitution! Stop the Insanity!!” You see, after only three months, it was obvious to many that some very unsavory appointments were being made, and our government was being grown exponentially outside the boundaries place on it by the U.S. Constitution.

The people on that day, were of all stripe and color. Old and young. Vocal and timid. Black and white, …and brown, too. The message was clear. “Stop what you are doing Federal Government”.

So you see, I take exception to the outrageous assertion being made by the NAACP, that the tea parties are racist!! The entire movement was born of a love for country, and a repudiation of radical change which is what we are experiencing.

The tea party movement has no structure, no leadership, no personalities that dominate. We are Americans, all. Young and old, black and white, we have common interest, that of returning to the guiding principles of our US Constitution.

Tea Parties are to be found all over the U.S. There is one near you wherever you are. Here in the east valley of greater Phoenix, we have no less than a half dozen groups which meet weekly and study The Five Thousand Year Leap written by W. Cleon Skousen; a book that celebrates the values and principles of the freedoms and liberties brought to us by our founding fathers, and is the center piece of our renewal as Americans. We are also studying our Constitution. Tea party members can tell you what the 10th Amendment says, and why the 17th Amendment was not such a good idea. We know about state’s rights. We understand perfectly what the 2nd Amendment says.

I submit to you, the tea parties are feared by the Progressives because we are educating ourselves. We are studying their movement, that of the Progressives, and can recognize when they are overstepping the boundaries set by the Constitution. We are no longer the complacent mind-numbed robots they thought we were. They know we are coming in November, too.

If you are not already a tea party person, find a group near you and join them, won’t you?

As a post script, today it was revealed that an early draft of the NAACP’s resolution against the tea party movement said this: Tea Party movement, (is) a “threat to the pursuit of human rights, justice and equality for all.”

Hmmmm sounds like a combination of black liberation theology and Marxism. These folks need to step back and remember this is America……not Russia, or Cuba, or Venezuela…..

Pssst. In case anyone hasn’t told you yet, your “tea party” is a joke. You folks couldn’t organize a trip to the restroom, let alone elect someone for President.

However, don’t give up! You provide endless hours of entertainment for many, many people.

What’s the name of that woman who quit her job as Governor of Alaska you folks seem to love? Oh yeah. Sarah Palin. It’s hysterical that she prepares for public appearances by writing notes on her hands!!!

“doctor” You are perfect! an elitist, quasi intellectual snob. You may be right, we may not be as organized as your beloved Acorn or the Black Panthers, but I would be willing to bet, if push ever came to shove you would be impressed by the conviction, passion and the marksmanship of a lot of those regular, ordinary folk.

    Keep laughing… November is coming
PS – That sinking sound you are hearing in the East… It’s your beloved Messiah’s poll numbers.
